Elizabeth Arena, MD, FACS
Dr. Elizabeth Arena is a double board-certified surgical oncologist and general surgeon, specializing in caring for patients with benign or malignant diseases of the breast. As one of the first ever American Board Certified Surgical Oncologists, Dr. Arena has specific expertise that makes her one of the most esteemed breast surgeons in the greater Los Angeles area.
As the director of the Breast Center at the Surgery Group of Los Angeles, her compassion for each patient allows her to provide a unique, individualized treatment plan that encompasses a multidisciplinary approach. Dr. Arena specializes in minimally invasive, oncoplastic techniques including breast-preserving lumpectomies using hidden scars and nipple-sparing mastectomies with immediate reconstruction.
She was named as one of Los Angeles Magazine’s “Top Docs 2019” in Breast Surgery.After receiving her bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College, Dr. Arena was awarded a medical degree with honors from the New York University School of Medicine. She completed her general surgery residency at Yale University and her Surgical Oncology fellowship at the John Wayne Cancer Institute. During her training, she presented her research in colonic physiology, head and neck melanoma, and disparities in breast reconstruction at several regional and national conferences. Dr. Arena is an active member with the American College of Surgeons, Society of Surgical Oncology, and American Society of Breast Surgeons.
